The evolution of the city of Barcelona from the nineteenth century to the new millennium can be found in the work ‘Del segle XIX al segle XXI l’Esport a Barcelona’, a project developed by the CEO Samaranch and co-edited by publishing firm Àmbit and the Barcelona Olympic Foundation. This publication was created with the aim of condensing all the richness of the city’s sporting tradition.

The book presents a rich collection of illustrated material that offers an engaging visual journey through the evolution of a city that has consolidated as a sporting capital for over a century and a half thanks to the hard work and dedication of its associations and the organisation of major international events.
