From 2 September to 31 October, the exhibition room at the Joan Antoni Samaranch Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport (Olympics and Sports Museum) will host Gabriela Mihailescu’s photography exhibit ‘L’Esport es il·lusió’. The inaugural ceremony will feature the presence of Maribel Martínez de Murguía, Barcelona ’92 Olympic champion with the field hockey team, who will offer a conference at the end of the exhibition.

The exposition “The City of Sports: Barcelona 1979-2009” covers the past thirty years of development and changes. It reviews the transformation of the city of Barcelona, which has become a pioneer in the field of sports. With the presence of Maria Teresa Samaranch, authorities: Mr. Jordi Hereu, Mayor of Barcelona; Mr. Alejandro Blanco, President of the Spanish Olympic Committee; Mr. Pere Alcober, Chairman of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport has been renamed Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch.
