Nanjing delegation
The delegation from Nanjing, the site of the upcoming 2014 Youth Olympic Games, visited the Joan Antoni Samaranch Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport (Olympics and Sports Museum)
Marksman Joan Seguí Picornell (Palma, 1947), a five-time Olympian, has assigned one of his pistols to the Joan Antoni Samarach Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport (Olympics and Sports Museum)
Along with the .22 calibre “LLAMA” brand short range pistol with serial number XXX859, (properly disabled by the Spanish Civil Guard), Seguí also assigned a 25 m distance target which is used for the Olympic rapid fire event.
‘PURA VIDA’ WINNER OF THE 4TH EDITION OF THE BCN SPORTS FILM FESTIVAL
Maite Fandos, president of the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica, was the person that gave the Ánfora Ciudad de Barcelona to the best film in the 4th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival to PURA VIDA, a production by Pablo Iraburu and Igor Otxoa. This documentary reconstructs in detail the attempted rescue operation of Iñaki Ochoa met at Anapurna some of the best climbers of the world.
The second day of the BCN Sports Films has been marked by visiting prisons.
In collaboration with the Department of Justice of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the BCN Sports Film establishes a program of activities in diferents prisons. This year we visited 5 locations among which we highlight the great reception and collaboration in the women’s prison of Wad Ras.
More than 1000 students have passed through the first day of the BCN Sports Film Festival
The sportive animation sessions at the Museu Olimpic i de l’Esport have been the great attraction of the morning of BCN Sports Film Festival. The evening began in the multipurpose room with One to One – space devoted to sports audiovisual professionals -. Meanwhile, in the halls the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport has been projected various sports sessions related to adrenaline, values, solidarity, sports stars and adventure that have made Montjuïc breathe the essence of sport.
It begins the BCN Sport Film Festival 2013, these new edition of the Festival of Film and Television Sport arrives to Barcelona with 60 poster film
The opening BCN Sports Film Festival in 2013 was led by Maite Fandos, president of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and Deputy Mayor for Quality of Life, Equality and Sports with Franco Ascanio, president of the Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs , Carles Llorens, director of the Catalan Agency for Cooperation and John Fa, President of the Catalan Basketball Federation.
The event gave the prize SPOTSPORT. In this second edition with 1000 euros prize went to the independent producer Houfilms. Miguel Centeno, head of sponsorship SPORT newspaper, was responsible for the award to Oriol Martinez and Henry Ribes producers of the spot “Between Friends.” This year there have been 14 spots and half of them went to the final. The directors are proud of the quality and dedication of these profesional audiovisual.
First year CAFE – Ciències del l’Activitat Física i de l’Esport – students from the Universitat Blanquerna were special guests in a master class on the origins of basketball in Catalonia taught by the Fundació del Basquet Català
Pere Sust, Vice-President of the Federació Catalana de Bàsquet; Jaume Bantulà, Director of CAFE at Blanquerna; Juli Pernas, Director of Fundació Barcelona Olímpica i Toti Munbrú, Manager of the Federació Catalana del Bàsquet were all responsible for welcoming the students.

Barcelona Olímpica, a platform to access knowledge on the Barcelona’92 Olympic Games and Olympism in the city. The Olympic & Sports Study Center Joan Antoni Samaranch at the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, the Olympic Study Centre at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the Municipal Archives of Barcelona have launched Barcelona Olímpica, a project devoted to preserve and disseminate the Olympic and sport memory of the city, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Games.
