On 23 June, Olympic Day is celebrated all around the world: hundreds of thousands of people – young and old – participate in sports activities, such as runs, exhibitions, music and educational seminars. The Pink Panthers, to mark their 20th anniversary, awarded Maite Fandos, President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, the EuroGames 2008 flag.
Barcelona was the first city in Southern Europe to organise the EuroGames, an event staged under the supervision of the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation. The Pink Panthers rose to the challenge and successfully promoted the event, attracting more than 5,300 participants from 34 different countries.
‘CASCADA’ WINNER OF THE 5th EDITION OF THE BCN SPORTS FILM FESTIVAL
Maria Teresa Samaranch member of patronage of Fundació Barcelona Olímpica, was the person who gave the Àmfora Ciutat de Barcelona to the best film in the 5th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival to ‘CASCADA’, a documentary by Anson Fogel and Skip Armstrong, and a production by Shannon Ethridge. Collects the award Andrew Luwandaga, vicepresident of FICTS.
