Just like every year, summer camp has arrived in Barcelona

One of the preferred activities at Montjuïc is to visit the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport (Olympics and Sports Museum). Visits from summer camps have significantly increased in recent years.

The Barcelona Educational Coordination Council is a network made up of 150 civil society organisations providing educational activities at infant, primary, secondary and vocational training establishments.

Olympic Day

On 23 June, Olympic Day is celebrated all around the world: hundreds of thousands of people – young and old – participate in sports activities, such as runs, exhibitions, music and educational seminars. Over the last two decades, the event has helped to spread the Olympic ideals to every corner of the world.

The Pink Panthers, to mark their 20th anniversary, awarded Maite Fandos, President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, the EuroGames 2008 flag.

Barcelona was the first city in Southern Europe to organise the EuroGames, an event staged under the supervision of the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation. The Pink Panthers rose to the challenge and successfully promoted the event, attracting more than 5,300 participants from 34 different countries.

‘CASCADA’ WINNER OF THE 5th EDITION OF THE BCN SPORTS FILM FESTIVAL

Maria Teresa Samaranch member of patronage of Fundació Barcelona Olímpica, was the person who gave the Àmfora Ciutat de Barcelona to the best film in the 5th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival to ‘CASCADA’, a documentary by Anson Fogel and Skip Armstrong, and a production by Shannon Ethridge. Collects the award Andrew Luwandaga, vicepresident of FICTS.

The BCN Sports FilmFestival has already begun. Maite Fandos, the president of “Fundació Barcelona Olímpica” has been the responsible to present the international sport film and television festival in Barcelona

The opening ceremony was attended by characters from the sport sector, politics and cinema. They could enjoy a short preview of the schedule. This schedule will be in the two official venues -Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch and Sala Àmbit Cultural of El Corte Inglés – Portal de l’Angel -, until Saturday. 72 audiovisual related to sport. All the sessions have free access.
