VALLEY UPRISING’ WINNER OF THE 6th EDITION OF THE BCN SPORTS FILM FESTIVAL

Maite Fandos, President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, and Jaume Mora, President of the CEEB (Barcelona School Sport Council) sign a partnership agreement with the aim of promoting and publicising sporting values among young school students.

The FBO, the body which manages the Olympic and Sport Museum, and the CEEB, responsible for the sporting activity of more than 40,000 school students in Barcelona, have established a series of initiatives in order to bring young people into closer contact with sporting values.

Maria Teresa Samaranch, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, Albert Batlle, Director-General of the Mossos d’Esquadra police force; Enric Truñó, Executive Councillor for Sport during the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games; Joan Anton Camuñas, former Secretary-General for Sport, and representatives of Barcelona’s consular corps, were among the leading dignitaries who chose to attend the event in recognition of the lifetime achievement of Nelson Mandela.

Members of Tsukuba University in Ibaraki, Japan, the country which will be hosting the 2020 Olympics, visit the facilities of the Museum and the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sport Study Centre.

The delegation, comprising Hitoshi Saga, Study of Leisure and Sport Industry; Kazuya Naruse and Ai Aramaki, the Professor’s assistance in the University’s Sport Sciences Department, and Haruko Hosoda, PhD and Associate Professor at the Trade Department of Tsukuba University, showed an interest in the Barcelona 92 document archive and the re-use of Olympic facilities.

 

Abel Kirua, Olympic silver medallist and two-time world champion, and Florence Kiplagat, the holder of the women’s half marathon world record, were the guest athletes at the presentation of the Barcelona Half Marathon.

Accompanying the runners were Joan Porcar, CEO of RPM Racing, Iolanda la Torre, Manager of the IBE, and Samantha Lliteras, Business Development Executive of Edreams.
