Dormity, a leading-edge company in the area of rest, has presented its ‘Dormity sport’ range to the Olympic Museum.

Argentinian Fernando Belasteguín, number one in the world padel ranking, together with David Sánchez, founder of Dormity and Joaquim Terán, president of the SES (Spanish Rest Society) presented this product line adapted to the rest requirements of each sportsperson.

 

Sixteen students from the 34th edition of the “General Training in Applied Sciences in Sport for Trainers” course visited the Olympic Museum.

The 34th edition of this training course for trainers has been developed through the Olympic Charity programme of the International Olympic Committee and thanks to organisation from the Sant Cugat High Performance Centre, in collaboration with the Barcelona INEFC Institute.

Open Camp – the first sports attraction park in the world – will open next spring. The new ideas for leisure and promoting sport include the concept for the first Paralympic museum.

The Spanish Olympic Committee acknowledges the work of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation

The executive committee of the Spanish Olympic Committee has awarded the Olympic Plaque for Sporting Merit to the Barcelona Olympic Foundation for the work undertaken in promoting Olympic and sporting values through the management of the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sport Museum and the Joan Antoni Samaranch Centre for Olympic and Sport Studies.

Olympic swimmer Summer Sanders and her skier husband Erik Schlopy visit the Olympic Museum.

Summer won four medals in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games (two gold, one silver and one bronze).

 

Final conference and closing of the 11th Edition of the Olympic Forum

Today’s morning conference began with Paco Medina, director of the Open Camp Project, the first park in the world dedicated to sport where technology and sports are made available to the public. An ambitious project that will see the light of day on 16/06/2016 in the Olympic Ring located on Montjuïc and where the Olympic Museum will be a protagonist.

 

Social networks were the topic addressed in the morning conference held during the 11th Edition of the Olympic Forum.

Romà Cuyas, former Secretary of Sport; Gerard Esteva, President of the Sports Federation Union of Catalonia (UFEC); Santiago Siquier, territorial representative of the Generalitat and Marta Carranza, Commissioner of Sport of Barcelona City Hall, were in charge of opening the conferences of this 11th Edition of the Olympic Forum. 

 

Technological progress enables precision and control in sports

The afternoon session in the Olympic Forum spoke highly of new technologies and the wonderful possibilities they offer sports.

 

Grigoris Georgious, winner of the 5th Sports Graphic Humour competition, awarded his prize by Gerard Esteva, President of the UFEC, and Juli Pernas, director of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation

David Moner, Honorary President of the UFEC and Marta Claris, sports administrator of Barcelona City Hall were in charge for awarding the two prizes to Osvaldo DaCosta, and the representative of the Consulate of Indonesia acting on behalf of Armen Hamonagan.
