First seminar on “Education and the Olympic Movement: Olympic values in education”

The Darder Museum in Banyoles hosted this first seminar on Education and the Olympic Movement organised by the Banyoles Centre for Olympic Studies – University of Girona, in collaboration with the Joan Antoni Samaranch Centre for Olympic and Sports Studies of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation. 

 

The Department of Justice of the Catalonia Regional Government presented the Prison Olympic Games.

The Olympic Games in Barcelona was a model of inspiration for many entities and educational activities. That same year the Justice Department launched the first edition of the Prison Olympics, 24 editions of which had already been held, and is one of the tools for integrating interns to the outside world.

BOUNCE: HOW THE BALL TAUGHT THE WORLD TO PLAY’ WINNER OF THE 7TH EDITION OF THE BCN SPORTS FILM FESTIVAL

Marta Carranza, President of the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica and Commissioner for Sports of the City Council of Barcelona was the person who gave the Àmfora Ciutat de Barcelona to the best film in the 7th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival to ‘Bounce: How the ball taught the world to play’, a documentary by Jerome Thélia and produced by Anne Carkeet (Merge Group). ‘Bounce’ explores the origins of our favourite sports. The documentary spans languages and continents to show how the ball has gained importance in our lives and fuelled our passion for competition. Consul General of United States, Marcos Mandojana, has received the award.

Presentation of Temporal Exhibition 3, 2,1… Rio

Vice consol of Brazil, Edgar Cabral Cardoso, inaugurated the exposition “3, 2, 1…RIO”. This exhibition is on show until 18th Septembre at Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch.
