COPLEFC and the Barcelona Olympic Foundation sign a collaboration agreement to promote the Olympic spirit
Pere Manuel, President of COPLEFC (The Professional Association of Graduates in Physical Education and in Physical Activity and Sports Studies in Catalonia) and Juli Pernas, Director of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, have signed a collaboration agreement between the two organisations to foster and disseminate the values of the Olympic movement and of sport.

Also present were Maria Teresa Samaranch, member of the Board of Trustees of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, Conrado Durántez, President of the Spanish Olympic Academy, Javier Cuesta, President of Correos (the Spanish postal service), Mario Garcés, Undersecretary for Development, Emilio Ablanedo, Government Sub-Delegate in Barcelona, and Juli Pernas, Director of the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum.

These sessions are an initiative by the University of Lausanne, and this year they have been supported by the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, the managing body of the Joan Antoni Samaranch Centre for Olympic and Sports Studies.
Over 3000 walkers take part in the 7th Olympic Day Walk
The walks organised by Barnatresc, an initiative of the Barcelona Sports Institute and the Barcelona Association of Hiking Clubs, are becoming more and more successful. These walks, held under the slogan “healthy habits”, are not just a physical and social activity but have a cultural dimension, discovering the nooks and crannies of the Catalan capital.

Having been convened, the jury, comprising Romà Arranz, teacher at the Escola Massana Arts and Design School, Raquel Medina, art critic and member of ACCA-AICA (Catalan Association of Art Critics); Miriam Alcaraz, Director of the La Casa Elizalde Cultural Centre, Antoni Benages, artist, and Juli Pernas, Director of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, has decided, after careful deliberation, that the winners of these 7th Barcelona Olympic Foundation International Art on Paper Awards are:
‘Streets, Squares, Parks and Gardens’ pays tribute to the sportpersons and personalities from the world of sport represented in the city of Barcelona.
In the book ‘Streets, Squares, Parks and Gardens’ Juli Pernas, Director of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, has compiled the history of the spaces in Barcelona dedicated directly or indirectly to sport.
The Olympic and Sports Museum hosted the meeting of managers of municipal facilities in Barcelona organised by the Barcelona Sports Institute (IBE)
The meeting was chaired by David Escudé, current Sports Commissioner of Barcelona City Council, together with Marta Clari, Manager of the IBE.
