Joining the 2513 members of Barnatresc – an initiative of the Institut Barcelona Esport and the Associació d'Entitats Excursionistes Barcelonès- were various groups connected to sports in the city including the members of Volunteers 2000.
The Barcelona Olympic Foundation set up a tent where anyone who wanted could have their picture taken with the Barcelona ’92 torch.
These day programmes are social activities that encourage healthy habits. Barnatresc has a large number of registered participants and the sports activities are known for attracting a mostly female public.
