2,000 walkers turn out for the 8th Olympic Day Walk

The Barnatresc walks, an initiative of the Barcelona Sports Institute and the Association of Barcelona Hiking Organisations, are increasingly successful. As well as being a physical and social activity, these walks, held under the motto “Discover Barcelona on foot”, also have a cultural dimension, discovering the nooks and crannies of the city.

As it does every year, the Barcelona Olympic Foundation collaborated in developing and promoting the Olympic Day Walk, in which the sites associated with Barcelona’92 are part of the attraction of the route. This year a special itinerary was planned to take account of the 25th anniversary of Barcelona’92 Olympic Games.

A large number of people sign up for the Barnatresc walk, and one of its characteristic features as a sporting activity is that the majority of those it attracts are women.
